Changing the Keyboard Layout Not satisfied with the keyboard layout on your computer? KeyTweak is a free program that allows you to map keys on a keyboard. If you change your mind and want to come back, you can easily restore all assignments with one click. You can also deactivate the keys, activate others and save the redefinition with just a few ((function {(‘review-app-page-desktop’);}); What is KeyTweak? For efficient users there is nothing better than the keys on the keyboard correctly for your needs. KeyTweak allows you to change the behavior of the keyboard when you press its keys. After using KeyTweak, your keys will generate the selected key selection. KeyTweak is useful for people who work with alternative keyboard layouts, e.g. Eg with a computer in another country. You may also need to customize the keyboard for a specific computer game or application. KeyTweak is a small, lightweight tool (less than 500KB) developed by Travis Krumsick. The program is available on computers running Windows Vista. It is also compatible with Windows XP, Windows 2000 and Windows 7. Although KeyTweak is no longer developed or un it will run on Windows 10 computers. KeyTweak is not available for Macs. Alternatives to KeyTweak are Sharpkey, Autohotkey, Google Input Tools for PC and Portable On-Screen Keyboard. How can I install KeyTweak? Downloading KeyTweak from Softonica is easy and secure. All you need to do is run the exe installation and then follow the on-screen instructions including approving the license agreement. Then go to the Start menu and find the KeyTweak submenu. You will also find the manual and the uninstallation program here. To start the app, simply click on the KeyTweak entry in the KeyTweak menu. Using KeyTweak When you open KeyTweak, a keyboard image appears in the main window along with a menu bar, mappings section, keyboard control section, special buttons section, pending changes section, and buttons to toggle between full and half learning modes. You can also access the KeyTweak manual from the Help menu here. Note that the assigned keyboard is not specific to your keyboard. it is universal. Below the menu bar at the top of the window, the Mapping section contains a list of buttons and buttons that are currently being redesigned to override the default values and display Raw. You can use the keyboard controls to select a new assignment for the selected key. You can do this using the drop-down list and the Reassign button. The special buttons on the right side of the window allow you to remap some (not all) of the special buttons on the keyboard, e.g. B. Movie playback controls. In the lower right corner, the Pending Changes box shows any changes that will take effect the next time you restart your computer. The Full / Half Lesson Mode buttons at the bottom of the window allow you to switch to two suitable lesson modes. At first glance it seemsUsing KeyTweak to be difficult, but a comprehensive guide has detailed instructions. You simply select the key on the virtual keyboard that you want to remap. It matches the keys on your keyboard and has its own number. When you click on a virtual key, the current mapping is displayed in the Keyboard Controls section. Then scroll to the Select New Mapping drop-down list to select a new mapping for that key. Then click the Reassign button. This mapping is displayed in the Pending Changes section. Any changes you make with KeyTweak must be restarted for them to take effect. Then click the Apply button to apply the change. The program allows you to restart your computer immediately. You can also stop the mapping by clicking the Clear All button. You can repeat this process for as many keys as you want, define new assignments or deactivate the one-key function. After the restart, the keyboard is mapped as you defined it when you used the program. KeyTweak is primarily ideal for redefining individual keys and solving small keyboard problems instead of changing the general keyboard behavior. Note that the changes you make to KeyTweak are global and therefore affect all users on the device. The full teach mode is an alternative method for remapping selected keys. When you click the Full Teach Mode button, a new window will open. After you have clicked on Start learning mode, you can select a key on the actual handheld keyboard for one location (No. 1) and another key for another location (No. 2) and then assign No. 1 again to No. 2 . Half the teaching mode wasn’t helpful as it is basically the same method as the standard key remapping method. Does KeyTweak have any limitations? While it is an effective program for changing the keyboard mode, KeyTweak has certain limitations. KeyTweak can’t combine keys, so you can’t map Ctrl-Alt-Del, for example, to a single keystroke. It also can’t affect the function keys on laptops or the pause / pause button. Some users may also be concerned that not all of the keys on the keyboard are dedicated, free, keyboard mapping software. There are many reasons why you can change your keyboard behavior. You can keep pressing the wrong key wrong on a new laptop. Or, you may have to redefine the keyboard to run a program or play a specific game. KeyTweak can help you do this easily and effectively despite certain limitations. KeyTweak is even useful when the keyboard is broken and some keys stop working. This is a free program that provides a simple solution to remapping keyboard input signals to exactly match your needs.
